Looks really neat, what game is that?
Yume 2kki, a well-known Yume Nikki fangame that proclaims itself as a 'fan-sequel' to the RM2k3 game by the people of 2chan. The same image-board website where Kikiyama (Yume Nikki's sole developer and creator) first released the game on June 26th 2004. Which fun fact, predates Cave Story by a few months as that game was released on December 19th, 2004.

The game has been in development since 2009 and it the people who made the game, known as "Project 2kki", have refer to the game as a hobbyist-passion project. It still receives updates to this day the game gets continuously bigger with each update. There are official endings of the game of course but people continue to play it for the newest map additions to the game which by the way, since the mid-to-late 2010s are now being made by some non-japanese developers as well! (Apparently you need to get a sponsor from Japan to back you in order to join the dev team)

And just recently as I said on there, they managed to make it not only a browser game but a multiplayer one at that. Here's the link to it, You can set to either English or Japanese if you like.

I am replaying Spiderman PS4 while the sequel doesn't come out. Great game, the sequel will probably be even better

Japanese RPGmaker 2003 devs are absolute lunatics.
Actually Yume 2kki was made on RPG Maker 2000 which predates Rm2k3 by like... three years obviously which funny because the original Yume Nikki game by KIKIYAMA was developed on RPG Maker 2003 where as this isn't.

If you really want to get technical, it's neither.

EasyRPG is an open source rewrite of both engines. Though there isn't much different between them, other than 2003 having a really shitty battle system that got hacked together.

I'm not sure how recent EasyRPG is. I know that Yume 2kki's development initially started on RM2k and as someone who is currently using RM2k3 for his game project, yeah I'm not a fan of the battle system as it is more so meant to be based on the battle system used in Final Fantasy 7 (and probably earlier but can't remember) and Chrono Trigger and there is no means changing the whole thing unless I install plugin or autistically manage to work around the whole thing with events and such. The latter of the two games I mentioned has some elements of action RPG in it than turn based. I can't really switch to using EasyRPG because I've already spent cash gifting the engine to my friends who are also helping me developing the game as well. Oh well that's life, gotta keep moving forward.

Eh... it's still in development, but it's mostly feature complete. The only command that doesn't work is Movie Playback, but nobody except me and the Aedemphia guy really uses it anyway so it's pretty low priority for the devs. Mostly everyone wants Maniac's Patch compatibility.

I think it's been around for about ten years now, but I'm not 100% sure.

Well, it's just an .exe replacement. There's really no reason not to use it, unless you're either using the Maniac's Patch, or using .AVI files.

I caved and bought a Switch a few weeks ago just because I needed to play the new Zeldas after a recent mushroom trip where I realized the profundity of those games. Yeah, it was a blatant nostalgia purchase and I don't regret it at all. I'm gonna play through Breath of the Wild first before I move on to Tears of the Kingdom, but I'm fast realizing that this game is so buttfuck massive I don't know if I'll ever get to that playing it as sporadically as my schedule allows. This is basically the Zelda I always wanted but as someone who rarely plays video games something this huge is a little daunting. Maybe I've just been out of the loop for so long that open-world games the size of a real-world continent are just par for the course now but I honestly have no idea how someone could complete this in under a decade unless they devoted every waking hour to this game. Blows my mind.

All on a teeny tiny little chip too. I feel like a boomer.

Mostly Loop Hero and trying to fit a rerun of Blasphemous

I was browsing a PS2 recently (even tho I have no job) to play my all time favorites (Silent Hill, Shadow of the Colossus, etc)
but the original games are the same price of a newly restored in japan PS2, including the shipment
Still more worthy than buying a ps5 tho

Kitten Burst

Since I'm notorious bad at video games, I thought to get something relaxing with a cute cat flying through cyberspace unlike Techno Kitten Adventure or Robot Unicorn Attack. It's considerable harder to navigate at highs speeds with free choice of waypoints. The music is dope too.

Not playing but really want to get back into Ark Survival Evolved....

Just a craving for Dino autism, but it's a really time-intensive game (even with easy settings) and I'm wondering if I'll end up feeling too guilty about it to get any enjoyment lmao

I've been getting a lot of cardio lately through playing the dance machines at the arcade. Personally, I prefer PIU over DDR, as the 5 button configuration lends itself to more natural movements imo.
I bet you can beat my friend, crazy54311 who unfortunately has to play DDR at a literal sex club as it was the only place where such cabinet exists in his state apparently.

I decided to check out the hype over Project Zomboid. It reminds me of Unturned if it was a good game instead of a shit one. I'm having a ball. I got through one ingame week before I got swarmed when I had the misfortune of being at my weakest. Played on the ez mode just for the first try, now I'm gonna play on normal so that I can play it with more emphasis on stealth, and as a nomad instead of trying to stay at a base because I think that'd be more entertaining and full of exploration. Next time I won't pick a carpenter guy though.

Started replaying Red Dead Redemption 1 last night for the first time since 2016-ish. I'd forgotten what mechanics were unique to RDR2 and it feels a little barebones and clunky, but I'm still liking it a pretty good bit. Wish the ranch stuff in the beginning didn't go on for so long, though.
