Got back into Transport Fever 2. It's basically a modernized version of OpenTTD.
I never got any good at these games, but I still love them. It's just fun tinkering with. I am never satisfied with what I end up with, but it's the thought that counts.

That's what I thought, back when I only had ~1,000 hours on it.
Yeah TF2 can have a big burnout when you play really well then just absolutely shit yourself playing horribily for weeks on end.

It's more to do with the fact that there's really an absolute limit to how much you can get invested in that game. It's a very high level for a shooter, but still, past ~2,000 hours it started feeling like TF2 is basically just the gaming equivalent of white noise. There was absolutely nothing new to do or see...

Yeah, but I think it depends on the player, TF2 is a very versatile game fit for both the casual silly player or the serious tryhard, people like me(the casual silly player) will just play alot of 2fort and the classic maps like dustbowl, badwater, swiftwater, pier, borneo, etc. for say like 300-500 hours, then we start playing more casual for other maps, but I think it ends when you really don't find fun in the game anymore, that's why I quit minecraft recently, it's completely unrecognizable and the overabundance in content and the capitalist wreck of youtube content has created an elitist culture around casually playing minecraft, trivializing everything and removing every aspect of creativity, most people blame mojang, but it was really the community itself & microsoft that tanked it.

wtf does YouTube or the "elitist culture" or "community" have anything to do with enjoying Minecraft?
(unless you play multiplayer, ofc)

I'm a multiplayer player, and every fun aspect of the community is gone from the game, replaced by jargon and things done by content creators, your building expected to be perfect, It basically got overran because the playerbase itself got too expecting and categorized, rather than acknowledging the purpose of the game to be creative, you'll just see and be expected to do overdone builds, bases, lifesteal, smp, ect., all trivialized removing the enjoyment of being creative yourself.

I've heard good things about that soviet transport game. Unfortunately I haven't got the time to play it yet.

I got into osu! recently because I love music and I'm a weeb. One fun thing about it for me is how obvious it is to feel yourself improving. I'm garbage at most competitive games - mostly I play story-based stuff, especially slow thoughtful games like The Stanley Parable. But hey, it turns out it feels really good to go from struggling with 2* songs on the first day I tried it to comfortably passing 4*s. And the skill ceiling for this game is crazy if you look at top players. I'm never gonna be one of those, to me it feels like most of the playerbase is just figuring out how to optimize the fun out of the game (what monster turns background dim to 100%?). But I'm hoping I git gud enough to play some of my favorite songs that are only mapped at 5* or 6*.

Oh, and my friend just showed me Disco Elysium today, and the first two hours we played were sick.

Glory, glory!
Kind of sad though that Bethesda obviously knows that their games are nothing but collection of templates and assets for modders and therefore their games on release are barely games to start with.

I finally finished my first Elden Ring playthrough. It took longer that I'd want to admit, but in my defense also did the DLC.

Hell yeah dog, nice fit too. I just beat the final boss a few weeks ago after a long hiatus, been working through the DLC but am currently stalled due to the allure of AC6. Shadow of the Erdtree is pretty damn challenging (at least for me lol) but so fuckin cool in atmosphere and gameplay. I had been feeling like AC6 was getting too easy, then I started a mission that included a large amount of functioning Beyblades that fire missiles and just wiped the floor with me. Will probably necessitate some changes to my build (super light reverse joint AC) but that's one of the best parts in this game.

Been doing some Helldivers 2 as well when I get the chance. It's too easy for me to turn into a salt factory so I can't go hard as often as I'd like, but it's still some of the most fun I've had in an online shooter in ages.

Been playing 40krogue trader. The bitcoin miners that came with it dont really bother me too much and the game is standard owlcat stuff. Little weird how early game most companions are schizo women and a geezer, where are all the cool dudes at?

Got around to play kotor

Bioware stuff , worse gameplay than the 1,2 baldurs, no interactivity like origins or the first mass effect.

Heard 2 has better writing, still to be determined 1 its pretty average. The fact that is on the star wars setting carries the game.

Graphics are severely overrated. And I'm not joking.
A good art style will always beat "good graphics". At this point graphics are irrelevant because if you make a game in UE the graphics are already up to the level of a normies liking.

Been playing some Gunfire Reborn. A simple and very fun indie rougelite. It's kinda like borderlands but without the millennial writing.
