Drum-kit... my dad worked at a music store at the time

I walked out to the living room really early, and saw the drum kit glistening next to the tree. I soyfaced, then just went back to bed. I never got very good and someone ended up stealing it some 10 years later, but it was so cool and really fun

Moondrop IEM's, mostly because it was exactly what I wanted

I HATE!!!!! getting stuff that's not what I asked for. If I go through the trouble of being specific about something, I'd rather get nothing than something that I didn't ask for.. and I'm quite vocal about this. I had a roommate that would use all my good olive oil and "replace it" with some cheap Walmart canola oil..... :PepeHands:

I hope you fucking went off about the olive oil. Luckily when I had a house share my food had its own fridge. I would've gone insane if anyone touched my precious food. To be fair, I mostly ate rice, soy sauce and leftover scraps from work, so there wasn't much to steal.

I remember one Christmas I got the Mighty Max Dragon Island. The box art alone for that play set is fucking fire.

I still have the dragon but pretty much everything else is lost.

It's gonna have to be the OG Gameboy I got from my grandparents when I was like ... 5 I think?
I still have it, and the original Tetris cartridge that came with it.
As well as Super Mario Land, which I also got at that Christmas from my great grandparents IIRC.

Since we have no Christmas, I highly doubt that was a Christmas gift...
...but I remember rather vividly playing NFS Underground 2 somewhere around New Year in my room. Do not quite remember when exactly my parents got that for me, but turned around that was quite the special disc. Thing is, while 95% discs in the country has been pirated, my parents somehow, somewhere, even if most likely unknowingly, bought me a pretty license. And what a license it was! While all the pirated discs around were NTSC, mine was PAL. As a result, no one ever believed me that I had Peugeot 106 as a starter car - it was a PAL-only machine, and so I was pretty much the only lad who had it.
So yeah, darkness, snow and ice behind the window, but I am warm, in front of my PC. Airport map, neon lights, the plane takes off and flies above me as I tear that landing strip with my Peugeot 106, and either Nobody by Skindred or The Celebration Song by Unwritten Law is playing - no, blasting in my cheap speakers... Man, that was so good. Life seemed so hopeful back then.
Shame on me I lost that licensed disc. And... a lot of other things along the way.

No idea I genuinely hate the holiday. maybe my auto-stirring mug. doesn't really matter to be honest. if I got something really nice as a kid it was just so my parents could have it for themselves, if I have any fond memories of the holiday I don't remember them very well, perhaps that adds to my bias against it.

You should buy/make yourself a present next year. Wrap it up really nicely and put it under your tree, and then unwrap it on Christmas. What do you think you would get yourself?

When I was around 12 years old I got a black DS Lite for Christmas and I loved that thing to pieces. I probably played the GBA port of Super Mario World more than anything else, but I have fond memories of Animal Crossing, Mario Kart, Nintendogs, Super Mario 64, Bowser's Inside Story, etc. DS Download Play was such a cool feature, it blew my mind that you could play full Mario Party with multiple people with just a single cartridge. As a kid I appreciated having it so if my siblings were being annoying and I just wanted to be alone I could go somewhere else in the house or even sit outside by myself and play it. Sadly, I had the nasty habit of leaving it in the car even in the winter, and eventually the top screen got a permanent black line through it after a particularly cold day. To its credit, that happened only during the 3rd or 4th winter of such abuse, and even then I still played it for years. I still have it and that thing still works, although I don't play it anymore.

you can actually fix this, a screen replacement wouldn't be that difficult.

And I'd actually suggest doing that while parts haven't become rare artifacts of the past. At the very least, if you'll decide to use/sell it at some point, it will be much better with the screen fixed.

I have nothing to contribute on these days, and I was being honest after all.

What was the best Christmas gift you ever received?

That is a straightforward question and I responded accordingly. But given I am prompted to elaborate my previous reply further, then I'll add the following: a PlayStation 2 which I was gifted at the age of 9-10 (my first ever console, although I don't fully recall my pre-pubescent years unfortunately).
