When I was going through my folders I found this really bizarre 2008 document detailing a breakdown of the Pepsi "Energy Fields" within the company's logo.... Really wish that was a sentence I made up. Though I'm like 70% sure it was a marketing campaign it was still a surprising find. I couldn't fit the whole document in but here's some highlights

so I'm curious if anyone else has had a similar thing before...

Damn, if you could upload this somewhere I'd be really thankful. I had this pdf as recently as 2016 and I often think about "pepsi planet". I lost my copy ages ago and I find it incredibly amusing.

The original PDF is too big for Agora but I've compressed the version I have to fit, hope it's alright!

  1. Go to Google or a similar search engine
  2. Search "isis ainu"
  3. Go to images
You will find a lot of strange advice animal style memes like these:

They are made and reposted across shitty meme sites like memegenerator. There have to be thousands, different permutations of the words yield unique yet similar results. I've brought this up on several imageboards, but a decent explanation hasn't popped up. It's obviously some kind of bot (I hope), but why? An attempted psyop? Proof of the dead internet theory?

In any case, I find it ominous.

Dead Internet methinks. I would chalk it up to perhaps boomers trying to relate to the youth while preaching, but with the randomness of the memes used, the same exact lines pasted over and over and no punchline, I doubt it. There is no hint of it being even post-ironic.

It's possible that it's one person constantly getting into the same internet argument about "there's no Muslims in Japan" and re-generating the same meme every time.

THAT SAID, my theory is that it's a bot.

The text looks like it's autogenerated because it doesn't have any context or meaning. It looks like a definition, as if you searched for the term and found the first dictionary result.

Bots have already taken over the google text search pages, it makes sense they would take over images too. It's likely meme generation sites have bots that constantly generate words based on all sorts of queries just for the website exposure.

Seeing as I brought it up in the r*ddit cringe thread - a leg shortening forum full of people debating going to have leg shortening surgery done by some Indian hack doctor. One of them actually did and came back in a wheelchair. I wish I could find it again but it seems to have disappeared.

edit: found it, it was actually on a limb lengthening forum which is why I was having trouble http://www.limblengtheningforum.com/index.php?topic=244.0

why you'd go to a doctor named after a fucking nerve agent for surgery idk. it's like going to see Dr. Novichok.

I don't think I'm allowed to post pictures of it here because it's basically gore. Edit: I found some pics that just have the scars with no blood so here:

There was this extremely mentally ill person on Tumblr in the late 2000's/ early 2010's (Very specific description I know) This person went by the alias "Coldnessinmyheart" and would post extreme self harm images (I wouldn't even really consider it self harm, at this point it was basically self mutilation) Her (I think it was a girl but it was hard to tell because of the amount of scarring) page was just full of images of her cutting on her limbs and body. Like literally all the way down to the bone, through several inches of fat and muscle in some places. Her entire body was covered head to toe in scars. Like this chick looked like a topographic map of the Himalayas, that's how bad the scarring was. If you Google search her alias you can still find some of the images though a lot has been taken down due to its nature.

I don't think it's talked about enough because I've met several people online who remember this chick like she was fairly well known on the site at the time and yet she's completely disappeared off the net and no one has done any digging into her life or whereabouts. All we know is that she might have been German. A lot of people suspect she's dead (Hell, it might be for the best if she is, she was extremely mentally ill). She was literally to the point of being disabled due to muscle damage, etc.

They're pretty dumb, but back in my early days online I ran into something called IAQs, or FAQs for games that didn't exist. Most were parodies of existing games and genres. My favorite ones back then were a series called Dead Horse V, a parody of Megaman X. The series was made by Matt from Disaster Labs, the same guys that brought us Arfenhouse.

I'm surprised IAQs weren't more widespread in those days, seemed like the easiest way to put your game ideas into form without actually making a game. There was even a now-deleted Wikipedia article on the subject, back when you could make a page over damn-near anything.

I have never come across IAQs, but I fucking love the idea of using a fake FAQ to parody current gaming trends. Is this something still being actively done anywhere at all?

Technicall not a website, but I found something weird when messing around with Wireshark (internet traffic analyzer tool):

Every 5 minutes or so, Wireshark would detect the message "Do you know who has X IP? Tell Y IP" being sent to my computers.

I assume it's an ISP thing, but still weird me out.

Pretty sure it's ARP, it's just how devices on a network map MAC addresses to IPs.

I stumbled across an escort site based out of Bengali the other day when I sorted by random on neocities
Yeath there is some weird stuff in the depths of Neocities. Pretty sure I saw a girl advertise her OnlyFans a few weeks ago on a very basic HTML website.
