I cannot recall the extract "earliest memory".
I know that in the 90's my aunt had the internet, and my older sister pleaded with my family to get it.
When we finally got it, I used AIM (AOL Instant Messenger) incessantly. Profiles, away messages, friends lists (and alerts when people came online), multiple screen names, ah it was a blast. I would stay up all night talking to people on there.
Anyways, I remember when Napster was a thing, then it was Kazaa, then Limewire (I remember downloading all of the CKY movies and waiting hours for them to download). I discovered tons of eclectic music during those times, from reggae to heavy metal, and techno to hip hop.
The internet was truly wild. Pop-ups were out of control, too. I vividly recall the fear of millions of pop-ups bombarding your screen of porn and ads if you visited the wrong website by mistake.
