Where did all the cool people from /x/ go? Nowadays its all just Christian schizophrenics and political shit-flinging. I just want to go back to posting low-res images of Bigfoot. What happened? Where else is there to go?

We scattered, leaving the web a more schizophrenic place.

No disrespect to Agora, but I've always wished the "Philosophy & Paranormal" portion of this board was emphasized over the "Current Events."

I first discovered this forum through another vaporwave community - it may have been Private Suite magazine but I honestly just don't remember anymore because it's been so long. One of the things that immediately drew me in was the vintage feel, which made me very nostalgic. But nothing makes me nostalgic quite like a good (shitty) conspiracy theory documentary, a poorly coded website devoted entirely to someone's crackpot ideas, or chain emails with stories and/or low res pics of cryptids. David Ike appearing in random History Channel documentaries before ancient aliens became a series, random one off specials on Discovery about Bigfoot... yeah I could go on.

Now seems like all those people have moved on to thinly veiled bigotry of one kind or another, religious extremism, or pure unadulterated schizo.

Well, that is kind of what tends to happen to most people when they spend too much time with that shit. As soon as you start to identify with conspiracy theories you lose yourself. Problem is many people don't know how to get into something without attaching a part of their personality to it so most people end up with some sort of crazy. Don't get me wrong I love reading crackpot ideas and theories but it seems like it's impossible for that sort of internet culture to exist long term

I think most of us still enjoy chuckling at inconsequential or absurd conspiracies now and again. It's just that with covid - and really since 9/11 - conspiracy has taken a lot more prominent role in day-to-day life. Commenting on a psyop unfolding in real time, or continuing to dig up evidence for crimes whose perpetrators are still alive and in power, is much more pressing than listening to David Icke talk about lizard people.

I can understand that, but /x/ isn't just a conspiracy board. It's paranormal. I can find no other paranormal forums that are anywhere near as good as /x/ was in its heyday. Guess it's just part of the growing trend of the internet becoming less and less fun over time.
same half the posts on here make 80% of /x/ users look like absolute brainlets. got lucky if you got a single reply from anyone who wasnt retarded sometimes
This is so unbelievably depressing to me.

I feel like paranormal content has fallen to the wayside by either one of two paths:
• Crazy Christian fundamentalists who think its real, evil, demon shit so crucify and attack it
or
• Le Athiest who is ToO sMaRt to believe in le ghostie bois

The daily flat earth spamming and Jeebus posting has pretty much driven all of the interesting topic posted on /x/ a long time ago. Out of all the more weirder subjects to read about, /sci/ has ironically taken that mantle.
Oh, that's interesting. Might be a better use of my time tbqh.

The crazy thing is how they aren't even born and bred Christians. You can tell most of them are coming out of what they call porn addictions (rofl) and are now overcompensating by bashing all the sinners. The worst kind of religious, if you can even call it that. But that's a subject for another thread.

Ain't no believer like a convert. It's the same thing with alcoholics gone dry: people who just don't drink (Mormons, Asians who get flush, etc.) don't go around extolling how terrible alcohol is to anyone and everyone the way "recovered" alcoholics will. Vegans, CrossFit, people who start smoking weed later in life, keto, flat earthers, etc., they're all the same in that regard.

I still make bigfoot threads and post low quality images of triangle UFO's. there are literally 5ish christian schizoids who post 24/7 because they are
A) getting paid
Or B) on government handouts and coordinate constant cringeposting from some christcuck discord server because they dont have jobs.
Honestly, I come here, I use neocities for some esoteric stuff because its always very creative and very from the heart even if it is crazytalk.
But /x/ isnt dead yet, its just different. also its fun finding new websites or blogs with /x/ topics and following their updates on archeology, or aliens, or whatever their hyperfixation is.

Politics and layman tier religion are the easiest subject to talk about. You don't need to know anything, you can just say anything and you will get a response because they are just inherently charged topics. Talking about Shadow People or Underground parallel civilizations take effort, you need to know the lore somewhat and you can't just repeat empty slogans for dopamine.

In all honesty old school paranormal topics are sidelined because there is no e-celeb pushing them, and it's a subject you can talk about anywhere. Maybe the low res Bigfoot pictures are on Tiktok now.

yeah i agree with the annoying ass threads in /x/. I feel like that belongs in /his/ but oh well, they are there to stay.
It just isn't the same though, I do miss old /x/ where i can just go there and be spooked the fuck out because of a mediocre green text story

Have you ever considered they quit the internet? Pretty much my only internet use is lainchan and discord, and my discord use is pretty much just talking to my only friend. He says he uses /r9k/ for eight hours per day. I remember when I used 4chan for eight hours per day...I hated that period in my life. Why are you guys still here?
