I hate short-form content. Really, it disgusts me. Everytime I have to see the unoriginal jokes, the creators who are just trying to get likes, the audio that are just shitty music sped up or slowed down to catch the attention of retards, the brainless retards who just sit on their rusty chair and rot their brain all day. And of course; 5 second videos that fry your attention span and your brain in general. I just hate it.

The problem is that I'm one of those creators. I'm doing this to earn a small amount of money. (Small amount for now). I know that I'm creating poison but I don't feel guilty about it. I know about everything. I fry other peoples brains for small amount of money. I know that I'm inconsistent but I don't care.

The main question is; Would you call me a bad person for this? If they are willingly letting me fry their brain, am I a bad person for doing it? I have been thinking about this a lot.

Pragmatic people aren't evil. The ones causing the pragmatism are. Tech Companies in specific have done two 180s regarding content.

They want content to engage people, so at the start people were making short 2 to 5 minute videos to get good engagement.
YouTube said nuh uh and required vids to be at least 10 minutes long, causing an explosion of long form content that is filled with meaningless slop.
Then they decided that shorts are actually good after TikTok capitalized on the format so now everyone is rushing to make short brainrot clips to farm views from children.

Ultimately these companies are to blame. To make money on content they should be approved by a company who qualifies and takes seriously good content. No more Mr. Beast, Paul Brothers, or PewDiePie. Sponsorships remove your video from the algorithm and being promoted as it's just an ad.

It should be noted that none of these services make money. YouTube, TikTok and other video services don't make money. They are a net-negative on the company that owns them (Google/Tencent/Meta). They use it to gain ecosystem control. They are the real evil in this situation, not you.

We can't all be monks in a remote village, we have to interact with society on many levels. Most of society has ties to short form video right now, so even artists, musicians, businesses, etc need social media accounts to exist at this point.

I like to dunk on it here, but if I'm honest, I'd probably have like 4 other people (the always broke guy with a 6 year old android phone with a dead taped on battery for one) at work to talk to (and no friends) if I wrote everyone off that uses this stuff. FYI, bitcoin is easily trackable(significantly easier than any other fiat there is) since transactions are publicly available, bitcoin transactions have manifuctured scarcity, it used to be made against spam transactions but it just slows down the chain since no single party can bruteforce transactions. The efficiency of the currency is also fucking awful, worse than even physical cash.
