Y2K/Neo-Y2k aesthetics thread!
Post your aesthetics here!
"The Y2K aesthetic, also known in some circles as Kaybug, is an aesthetic that was prevalent from roughly 1995 to 2003, although the aesthetic didn't really begin to become well-defined until about 1997. Named after the Y2K Bug, it is characterized by a distinct aesthetic period, encapsulating fashion, hardware design, music, and furnishings shining with tech optimism — sometimes literally. According to the Y2K Aesthetic Institute, some of its aspects include tight leather pants, silver eyeshadow, shiny clothing, Oakleys, gradients, and Blobitecture. Most Y2K aesthetics rely on the use of technology and slick futuristic looks, signaling the optimism of a new era as the 20th century/2nd millennium progressed into the 21st century/3rd millennium. One of the earliest definers of the Y2K aesthetic is the Designers' Republic, a Sheffield-based graphic design studio best known for their work on the Wipeout video game franchise and various album artwork."

@AlmostHalf10 those iBooks were the shit. My school had them and I wanted one for home so bad. They felt so totally different in design and OS from our gray windows boxes. Apple after the return of Jobs could do no wrong til his death.

The Power Macs got in on the fun too! Imagine Apple releasing anything that looked like this now...I like the attempt to infuse tech with humanity, those swerving, swooping handles and panels :) the ghost "G3" is a nice touch too

Encarta Virtual Globe
The convenience of Wikipedia is great, but man, the interactivity of a program like Encarta combined with the fact that you didn't even need an internet connection to use it makes it a completely different experience.

Demolition Girl / The 大美人 (Tamsoft / D3 Publisher - PS2 - 2004)

God, D3 games are such garbage. I get irrationally happy whenever Vinny from Vinesauce has to slog through them during his PS2 budget titles streams because his reactions are always fantastic.
