I think one thing that gets overlooked on the retro nostalgia discussion is the fabric designs that were used on everyday items (beds, table cloths, rugs). If you lived in a household with grandparents in the 80's and 90's I don't think you could have gone far without seeing this woman's work. So much of our nostalgia is directed at products made in the era but we forget the previous era bleed over where items from the 70's are actually more relevant in the 80s. If there was one designer logo I remember vividly it's hers. These patterns may have been in your 80s life but you didn't realize they came from the 60s/70s. It's a reminder that when you think about nostalgia for an era, you have to include the items from the previous era that co-existed with it. The 90's isn't just the 90's, it's a collection of everything mixed together up until that point. Maybe you recognize some of these patterns?
