This is stuff I've noticed and I'm technically in this demographic. I remember using the phone as the main means of contact and actually knocking on other kids' doors. It's a world I do very much miss. But it's all gone now. This video also highlights something I'm not sure if I covered in my critique of meme culture. That is, it's mainly used as a cover for apathy and nihilism, dressed up with cartoon characters. It is why I find myself tiring of the meme scene.

I don't disagree with al lot of what he says. Much of it is common sense. If you're just on your phone all day, you're going to be sad because that phone is ultimately empty.

All that being said, Lol what the fuck, Sargon? Gen X are generally zoomers' parents. How is this millennials' fault? Maybe if you fucking cucks actually raised your fucking kids and took them fishing every now and then instead of pawning them off on daycares and PBS shows, they'd care about something other than Snapchat.

My kids are both generation alpha and they're sure as shit not being sent to daycare to get molested.

Plus, Mr. Generation X over here missed being a millennial by one year, but you know, "It's not me, it's those god damn faggots born a year after me!"

This is just the retard who destroyed Ukip trying to grift 22-year-olds.

He has some good points. Fuck him regardless.
Oh no, you are a generation that missed out on growing up healthy and being raised properly. You are a poor, poor thing. How bad it is to be you.

No shit zoomers got the short end of the stick. They are also the ones that have to struggle through this shit on the daily basis. You were part of the previous generation that let this shit happen, and instead of actually helping out and cleaning up the fuck up you made, you tell to the camera about how you are no longer a free man and that you how have obligations and are happier for it.

Fuck off you inane mouth breather.

The core message of this video basically boils down to:
- you zoomers sure do have it difficult
- thank god this isnt me, *crack* siiiip

Throwing all the blame on """millenials""" is such a limp-wristed thing to do. Not only you tell to the audience that "zoomers are unable to own up to their mistakes", but you then proceed to blame "millenials" and move your own fuck up onto them.
If this doesnt how what of a spineless hypocrite this ///bundle of sticks/// is, then I dont know.

What a waste of 10 minutes.

As a millennial, I remember a point in time when society started to rapidly change for the worst (around 2008ish - thanks Facebook/iPhones). However, by the time that happened my formative years had already occurred and I was already a late teenager so I was lucky to have some sort of social grounding and direction in my life. While I am not as socially adjusted as a boomer/gen-x, at least I was part of relatively stable social world growing up.

Zoomers? They are a generation that is fucked beyond repair due to the accelerated collapse of Western society. Most of them just lost the prime of their teenage life (high school or university) thanks to the pandemic and now they get to enter into the work force as the global economy is heading towards a collapse worse than the Great Depression. Plus, I find the zoomies are bombarded 24/7 by politics and dread by social institutions and social media they are part of which means a lot of them are either evangelical towards social issues or have adopted a nihilistic towards life as a coping mechanism.

(I do not agree with everything said in this video, still an intersting watch to see what a boomer thinks on gen Z)
edit: damn I want Belle Delphine so bad)

more like what boomers stole from everyone accounted for! (No seriously, do research, all of their actions are super similar to what Gen Y and now Gen Z are doing in their prime. There's a fucking reason why boomers are considered to be worst generation.)

no, I did not watch the video, fight me.

While my previous statement on the thread was more so poking at the idea of this shit going on much longer than it is. I do think that, yeah, blaming other folks is relatively dumb and unfortunately, you just can't undo the past 60 years or 20 years of history in one fell swoop, that shit is going to take time unless we put all efforts into it. Even if it means we'll wound up dying lonely bitter deaths which the only silver lining with that is basically making it easier for the future generations to continue to undo but also learn from past mistakes to prevent such issues ever again.

Basically, participate in civil society and sacrifice your internet personalities in exchange with actual people in your local area and become a better man.

What's the summary of this video? Is it just zoomers gay? I don't want to hear Sargon speak for 10 minutes. Thanks in advance
Smartphones bad for interpersonal relationships
Nihilism and laissez faire culture lead to a lack of agency and responsibilities, turning zoomers into forever children

I don't really care about the blame shifting. the core issues of why zoomers are an exceptional generation growing up with the internet like no other gen before it and the consequences of that were laid out correctly in my opinion. The intergenerational warmongering is cringe anyway, as if one generation is some homogenic blob that you can somehow point the finger at. Has always happened, will always happen.
In the case of zoomers, it's even more important that they don't become complacent and just blame it all on the boomers and it doesn't even matter if they're correct or not because it won't help them. They have to unfuck themselves and correct the wrongs because the ones responsible won't be around for them to do that for them.
If we want to use the "hard times -> strong men -> good times -> weak men -> hard times" analogy, then zoomers are currently living the hard times and those should birth some strong men to build a better future.
I think that includes us millenials as well.

If you ask me, I think the whole "zoomers being fucked beyond saving" rhetoric is just blown out of proportions. Sure, there are plenty of zoomers who have shallow lives and are constantly indulging in themselves and their appetites but at the same time however I'm noticing there are a bunch of Zoomers who aren't as so caught up with the Internet stuff are trying to get by and I respect that. Surprisingly a lot of the zoomers going into the workforce as far as I seen are the late-zoomers, the kinds born between the years of 2001 - 2005. Now I'm sure the a good chunk of zoomers born between 1996 - 2000 (us early to mid zoomers) are also in the workforce and some being more successful than others too so I don't doubt it's only the younger ones doing the work.

You're right that it is true that even if boomers are largely to blame, you can't really undo their actions 60 years ago (which I mentioned in my previous statement). Sadly, some don't see this and there is a growing amount of contempt against the boomers so-much-so that many are attempting to sue some of them or press legal actions on some of them for their actions in some form of compensation. As you stated before, it is largely counterproductive and really overall retarded and helps no one's not even the people who agree to their beliefs.

I will say that I feel like our generation has become misguided because we now live in an age of distractions and are constantly trying to catch some kind of ghost for some arbitrary reason that not even myself can find a clear answer for (To which I feel I am guilty of doing as well). As I said, the best solution is really to sacrifice internet status in favor the community outside our machines that being Civil Society. (I'm saying that so many times that's it's going to lose meaning. Tomorrow I shall make a thread about that I hope.)

PS:
Let's not use that model because the whole point of the model is inherently cynical in nature and honestly, American Cynicism has been a poison on our society for a while if you ask me.

It is but the whole smartphone and internet thing IS a unique factor that deserves the attention it gets. Not that it's the first gen to grow up in unique circumstances but it IS the first of all generations ever growing up with internet access like this and the results are more or less obvious. Zoomers are the first to have to learn on how to deal with extreme globalisation and digitalisation.
I agree with the rest of what you said, pretty much.

No it's pretty screwed. I'd say you're the exception rather than the rule. I'm with you in that older category (lucky enough to still have memory of when everyone wasn't constantly online) and all my (now former) friends are not in good spots. And not just due to the over-competition issue but because of how they act in life (hence why they are now all former friends). They're just a bunch of incels too caught up in memes, video games, porn, and childhood nostalgia to actually do something worthwhile. They are all either unemployed or have very low paying jobs and there is seemingly no remedy for this. And from what I hear this is the case for the majority of guys under 25. Video games is now our primary occupation. I have hope I will break free of this but them, not so much.

Thanks Sargon. As a zoomer, I feel so invigorated after listening to you reminisce for ten minutes about how great the 90s were, and how shit we have it now. Let's just use millennials as a scapegoat, even though it was your generation that parented zoomers and taught them no life skills! So true Sargon!

Yeah, my experience is the same. I know more people than I can count on my hands whose day and all ife purpose consist of playing video games and watching porn. And it sounds like I'm shitposting, but I'm dead serious. Lot of them play these games not even because they enjoy them. That wouldn't be so bad. They play them because they are afraid to lose rewards for not daily logging in.

Knowing what kind of lolcow Sargon can be, I am kinda happy he just seethed instead of giving solutions.

Yeah league is the worst. I know people who are still trying to become eSports champions even in their mid 20s. I knew a guy who called video games a "talent". Literally zero hope.

Why on Earth is eSports a thing on college campuses?! There is an eSports studio within the weights section of the gym at my university. I don't understand it, it is so pathetic.

Related to this post, how can I take this person seriously when he shows a clip of Jordan Peterson? Does anyone actually take what anything these people say to heart?
