But seriously, this is all indicative of a deep sense of political impotence among young people. Interest in alternate political ideologies + feeling you can't do anything to change the status quo + fear of being censored = massive Internet retardation/reduction of politics and history to a series of increasingly bizarre memes.
Can't say I don't sympathize though.
I know the general concept and have played Paradox games before, but no, I haven't. It's not really my kind of game.
Don't get me wrong, TNO seems like a creative setting and think alternate histories like it can be cool. I just find the image of people on >reddit arguing about ideologies that are deliberately detached from reality to be kind of depressing.
@№56 Where did you find those discussions? I have been part of the TNO fandom for a time and the things that I find are memes and Ulrike Meinhoff porn (I wish this last part was a joke.).
@Voicedrew I don't think the French would like that...
@Alixie Searching up the Speer thing gave me a thread from the games >reddit about how reformed fascist technocracy with German characteristics is actually le bad (wow!) but I'm just assuming.
>Ulrike Meinhof porn
What the FUCK
the year is 2030 and a news headline from Brazil reads, "Video game HOI4 used to train young prospects." and the next day its "Brazil has bombed Germany, we asked there command for a word and they said 'funny lol'"
