I liked reading these when after school I was bored spending time at my grandparents' house

Local newspapers in my city only have pictures of naked ladies. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

My grandpa would give the comic strips after I went to the corner store and got the newspaper and the lotto for him, simpler times.

The last time I looked up movies in a newspaper Loews Theatres was the largest chain in the world and Detroits largest Star Theatre wasn't built yet (today it's abandoned and partially demolished).

That reminds me of the Seinfeld episode where Kramer gets 555-FILK as his new phone number and impersonates the Moviefone guy by looking at the movie times on the newspaper. Such a good episode.

I used to use the phone number the theatre had most of the time.

Holy crap, I forgot that even I used to do this back in the early 2000s. Of course there were other ways of finding the movie times by then.
