I think there's plenty to complain about in the modern era.
But this new commie meme of idolizing the life of peasant farmers is equal parts infuriating and hilarious because of how unbelievably stupid it is.
Of course this is why leftists teach fake history, when they teach any at all, so they can deceive children who don't know any better.

Being a peasant farmer was not a fun idyllic life. The idiotic notion that they only worked 4 hours a day is a blatant lie.
A self evident lie, something only a sheltered child who has never so much as lifted a shovel in their life could believe.

IIRC the bullshit leftist academic responsible for that nonsense blatantly ignored pretty much everything but direct fieldwork (which they also severely underestimated). When in reality basically every aspect of food/shelter/water/cleaning/etc, which we take for granted, required constant, daily hard work for them to maintain.

It's even more hilarious when you consider that the vast majority of times leftists have tried to set up communes in the modern era, they all fall apart because they so quickly get tired and bored of the hard physical labor of farm-work and maintenance. Hell, fucking Bernie Sanders himself even got kicked out of a hippy commune for being a lazy POS who wasn't doing any work.
