A normal day in Russia?Whatever this is called
Is that really a conscious style, or is it just a limited shaded colour palette? Either way, it's something I didn't know I liked until I saw the second and third images.I have a fondness for hard shadows, I wish I could remember what this style is called.
I've come across a name for it before, but i've only seen it the once and never again. There is a renaissance art-style called Chiaroscuro that it kinda close, but it doesn't really use flat, hard shadows. Is that really a conscious style, or is it just a limited shaded colour palette? Either way, it's something I didn't know I liked until I saw the second and third images.
A lot of very lonesome imagery there, but a sort of comforting loneliness, and for the last two a feeling of coming after something else, be it a long busy day or the death of a civilization. An eveningtime sort of atmosphere. The buildings and technology imply the presence of other people, but they are mostly absent from the viewer's experience, again, sort of a 'late to the party and the guests have left' feeling. I dunno why, but it resonates with me a bit.Plantwave (?)
